Zen To Done

Zen Habits is an excellent productivity-and-lot-more blog by Leo Babauta. Well, maybe you should not use “lot more” when talking about something “zen”, but sometimes less is more. Or more is less? Anyway, he collected his posts about a simplified version (is simple less or more?) of Get Things Done (and more) and you can get it now as an inexpensive e-book.

How we increased the national talk-time average

Yesterday, our pastor mentioned that an average couple talks only 4 minutes per day. I tried to find that statistic on the Internet and found even worse numbers - some studies apparently indicate that married couples spend only 6 minutes per week in a serious discussion. I decided to put a stop to that and spent at least an our talking to my wife last night. You do the math - or even better - spend that time talking to your loved ones. Be above average!

Cup Stacking - a new sport?

Any explanation of this “sport” would sound stupid. You just have to see one of these videos. Unbelievable…

Romantic Printer

Two hearts printed by our printer every dayEvery time we turn it on, our Lexmark E320 laser printer prints a page with these two little hearts in one corner. If you know a technical explanation for this, please do not post a comment about it. I prefer not to know and just be grateful that our printer tries to cheer us up. Thank you very much :-)

Lost village

I just heard it on the radio and found this link. A village in Scotland with an interesting name: Lost. Apparently, the road signs saying “Lost” were too tempting to tourists, so they are changing the name to “Lost Farm”. Pity…

AP Wire | 02/27/2004 | ‘Lost’ signs force village to change name

P.S. According to the radio interview I heard, the shortest lasting sign was six days, not just a day as the article above states.

P.P.S. Cool scenery from the area near Lost.

Cheaper way to clean DVDs

If you never rented a DVD from Netflix, you may not know about the way they recommend to clean DVDs that skip:

Wash them with liquid soap or window cleaner!

Yup, no need for fancy disk cleaners. If it is good enough for their DVDs, is it good for my disks too?
