If you are like me, even after donating to some fund for the victims of the tsunami you did not feel that was enough. Maybe you realized (again) how helpless we are in front of forces of nature. However, we do have means to deal with that as well. It is being what we really are - eternal sons and duaghters of the living God.
This article (by one of the few truly inter-religious people I know) explains more:

Setting Prefs for the Mozilla Rich Text Editing Demo
Above link is actually not that hilarious, it is only silly. Firefox is such a great browser in almost every respect, but then you get this “feature”. Why not handle this the same as popups etc. - let the user allow a given domain to perform clipboard operations with a click or something?
What is really funny is that the first time you try to perform copy->paste in a rich-text field in Firefox, you get a warning - asking if you would like to review a page on mozilla.org that explains the issue. If you click OK, Firefox’es own popup blocker stops that window from opening!
You can, of course, allow popups from mozilla.org, but I recommend you first spend some time laughing. Laughing is healthy.

Koders - Open Source Search lets you search the source code of many open source packages at once. Very handy when looking for a solution to some common programming problem, or an example of using some function.
It also has neat calculators that show you how much would it cost to develop a certain package yourself (based on the actual number of lines of code and person-months-per-thousand-lines you specify.)

PHP 5.0.3 and PHP 4.3.10 have been released. Besides fixing some bugs (especially regarding (un)serialization), several serious security issues have been addressed.
Performance of the foreach() construct has been improved for PHP 4 (backported from PHP 5.) This is a welcome change, as foreach() is so much cleaner and easier to use compared to other loops, but it was also so much slower until now.

If you want to get a good laugh, just read this carefully. (taken from a RedHat Magazine article, some markup added)
…Being more FHS compliant, Fedora Core 3 now includes the /srv directory. The rationale behind this directory is to store site-specific data that is served by the system: where the httpd, cvs, and ftp services store their data, for example. This directory is not used for this purpose in Fedora Core 3. It is just provided for FHS compliance…
This means that in order to increase your own Linux box FHS compliancy, all you need to do is type “mkdir /srv”. Or perhaps RedHat folks want to put down the FHS folks (as if someone who spends all that time coming up with filesystem layout proposals needs someone else to put them down…)

I must admit that I was right about Drupal
. Within weeks of trying it for the first time, I have two live sites based on it, and one more in the works. One of the live ones is kind of private, but here is the other one:
Kingdom Of Heaven Now (A website dedicated to encouragement of the Art, Literature and Culture of The Kingdom of Heaven on the Earth Now.)
